My Cereus peruvianus just bloomed last week here in Central Florida. In a previous bloom last spring, I got a fruit which we ate and was tasty.

That's great! You know, that looks like Cereus jamacaru. Many people use the "peruvianus" name as a catch-all for lots of the Cereus species when the true species is not known.
