It grows less than a foot tall, only turns brown in summer heat, stays in a nice mound, and when I cut the stem it appears to be a grass, not a sedge or rush, and has these cool beads for a root system.
SOLVED: What grass is this?
The leaves look like variegated liriope, but the roots look like a sedge.
Just looked up variegated liriope. They get purple flowers. Mine get the tan insignificant feathery seed heads.
Must be a sedge then.
But from what I read, sedges have triangular stems when I cut into this one it appeared oval like grass. My pics blurry though.
