Hometheater idea

I am organizing a home theater and I am wondering if a good bookshelf speaker can compete with https://homecinemaclub.org/best-floor-standing-speakers-under-500/ a floorstanding speaker even though it has less drivers and less internal cabinet volume?
What are the usual advantages / disadvantages of each type?

I'm not sure a bookshelf speaker is a good choice for the front channel, but mine work great as surround speakers. I have a Sonos system. I was able to start with a soundbar (it sounds amazing). Later, I added Sonos One speakers to make a surround system and plan to add their subwoofer. Their latest soundbar supports Dolby Atmos. One of my favorite features is you can use your phone to calibrate the speakers to your room.
