I have been seeing this plant quite frequently in the Gulf side of the Tampa Bay area and would like to get the name. Could you please help. Thanks.

Looks like it could be bougainvillea.

Vestia, you are right. I was hoping to get some local comments, because it seems very popular around here, not from the other coast. I may get another photo with the details later on. Thanks for your reply.
Joshua18. Thanks. No, it's not a bougainvillea, I have one of those. This one looks more like a hedge shrub, very dense like the Ligustrum. In looking further, I found out that it looks more like the Ixora Coccinea. Thanks again.
I wonder if it could be a Fagus sylvatica.
