I think it is a perennial in agreeable climates, like where I live. I saw it at Annies awhile back. I have also seen the purple one and was in love. But I am easy. I am pretty sure it comes in other in your face colors depending on the species or cultivar.

So are you saying it is a climbing snapdragon or is it the Gloxinia, or are they one in the same.

This is a friend of mines, she bought it in a hanging basket at a local green house that puts together hanging baskets.
Sadly we are in Michigan so unless she takes it in for the winter it won’t survive our winter here.
But I will tell her you would like it if she’s not willing to bring it in for the winter.
