SOLVED: PLANT IDENTIFACTION

West Babylon, NY

Flowers are just beginning to open. I will update when they open. Any ideas? Thanks.

It reminds me of a cuphea. Maybe a cultivar of Cuphea ignea?

I looked it up, and I think you're right, but I have no idea how I would have gotten this! Thank you.

LOL No. For some reason it had not occurred to me yours was in bud. I thought that was the flower.

So pretty but it looks like Purple loosestrife which is so invasive. Illegal in some areas.

Ok, that looks more like it. I haven't really seen it around here in my Long Island, NY garden though. I do have a habit of picking pieces of things that look pretty, and then forgetting about it. I am so happy I now know what it is. I am usually able to keep invasive things in check by keeping them in a pot. Do you think it's possible? Thank so much again.

Never mind, I read how bad it is so am pulling it. Thanks again!
