SOLVED: Can anyone id this little flower/bush?

Fort Lauderdale, FL

I saw this outside my doctor's office and was struck by how purple the little flowers are. It's new to me and I've been living in South Florida for 70 years! Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Hi birdwatchbeth!!!
I think we are the same age!! I still am always trying to learn about new plants like you. Keeps me off the street. LOL Which is good with Covid here.

My guess is that it is a dwarf morning glory, from the genus Evolvulus. It has a 100 species I just read and I bet many more cultivars. They all look the same to me without some research and I do not have time to look thru them for a possible match right now. Your close up is hiding some detail.

Hopes that helps.

Hi ZilyZily!
Thank you so much for your response. I do believe you are correct. I spent some time browsing 'dwarf morning glory' and found one that seems spot on. Because of the leaves, I think it is probably one of the Evolvulus hybrids - maybe Blue My Mind. You definitely sent me in the correct direction!
Thanks again!
Beth
