replace now?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm thinking of digging up my cup and saucer vine now and replacing with Purple Haze PF. It would be a bit more sun than the PF is in now, but will shade for a day or two and water well. The cup and saucer just doesn't bloom profusely, it's pretty, but thinking of next year here. I want to get the Purple Haze in the ground and get it established now. Does anyone see any setbacks to doing it now??

TiG, it should work if you can move the PV without breaking it.

it's in a hanging basket, but getting really big. Fortunately the rootball should be totally intact and easy to move.

OK, it should be easy then. Take the wires off the basket and if it's twined around them just tug the wires out. Get your DH(he really is a dear) to hold the top while you plant the bottom to support the vines.

oh Susie, he just loves you! he's gonna smile real big when I tell him what you said.
