Which plants are best for attracting butterflies? I probably only have room for one.

Anne,yes. it is Buddleia

Red Porterweed, Stachytarpheta jamaicensis, is one my favorites. PDB link http://plantsdatabase.com/go/2392/ Also Lantana, Penta, Milkweed (Asclepias) and Passion vines. These plants bring in Monarchs, several Swallowtails and Zebra Longwings in abundance as well as many types of skippers, hairstreaks and small butterflies.

Thanks to all of you - I'll take these to the nursery and see what grows here. Thanks again,
anne
