That is an awesome flower! I don't grow cannas because I have terrible soil and dry all summer long but that flower...might be worth growing! I love red flowers.

A good many of my Cannas still had a few blooms, tonight's frost would have probably nipped them hard, but my pet goats, Marigold and Iris were out most of the afternoon and they pruned them down right nicely, LOL.The Lucifer is very pretty, one of my favorites..

Spirit of coyote, I live way south of you where it's just as dry, but we have all sorts of cannas all over the place. I have the 'Lucifer' in a 5 gl container and have to thin it out every year. It blooms for months.
