(Hesperantha cucullata)

Tokyo, Japan

Hesperantha's are small South African bulbs that grow in the winter. Mine have survived light frosts, but with slight browning of the leaves, so I doubt that they are very hardy. This particular species is moth pollenated in the wild and opens at dusk - but mine can't seem to make up their minds if they are diural or nocturnal...
Family: Iridaceae
Genus: Hesperantha
Species cucullata

Do you have a picture of the whole plant? I was sent some seeds and know very little about them.

Thanks,
