I don't have the room in my garden for one of these giants. I have found specimens at the Los Angeles Arboretum, Huntington Library and Botanic Garden, Quail Botanic Garden, Balboa Park in San Diego, Santa Barbara Zoo and Alice Keck Park in Santa Barbara. Our climate seems to be just right for this giant, but needs plenty of space that usually only comes in public spaces. It used to be listed in the Sunset Western Garden book, but has been dropped as of the 2001 version.
