'Passion'-ate story

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Gotta share this, was so reminded when I planted my new maypops today.
Years ago, Mom was walking through our other yard and told me 'those are maypops'. My dh said, those are passionflowers.
My mom broke down and cried as she realized that her whole life, her gruff old no-nonsense Dad had called her Mom 'maypop' and she never knew that he was secretly flirting with his wife. It was a side of her then gone Dad that she never knew.

pass the tissues please:)

That is so sweet! My Father to this day gives my mother Daisies and calls Mom His Daisygirl. There is a romantic story behind it but the one time I asked about it Dad just smiled and said "Ask your Mother" And mom just smiled and said "it is none of your business" LOL I will never know why he started calling her Daisy but the fact that he still does when he is feeling flirty is all the more precious for the bit of mystery. They are both in their 80's now and they are still like a couple of kids in love.
