SOLVED: Carolina Lupine????

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Need help with the id of this plant. I think it is Caroline Lupine but not sure. It came up on its on. About two years ago I had the same flower and tried to move it to one of my beds and it didn't come back. I had another one a couple of years before that it didn't come back. The stalk puts out yellow flowers. Thanks Jim

Its a verbascum a.k.a. mullien. Carolina lupine is Thermopsis caroliniana and has leaves that are trifoliate (in clusters of three).

Be careful, in south GA we have these all over the pastures and they are so invasive and hard to get rid of.. Their root can be long as as parsnip.LOL
