I am in the process of buying a 1940's house in Northern CA. I was going through the kitchen the other day, and I noticed that f the drawers in the kitchen had so many layers of paint on them, it is almost impossible to pull them out. I'm sure this is partially due to the moist weather, but I would still like any recomendations for easy paint removal. I would eventually like to do my windows as well, which are very difficult to open, due to an equal number of paint layers.
Removing Paint from old drawers...
My home built in 1943, had many layers of paint, including lead paint in some coats.
I used heavy gel type remover, stroke it on in one direction, cover with saran wrap to help keep it wet. Leave the recommended time, put on rubber gloves and remove. scrapeing with the grain, in one direction.
