Now that I have three pictues showing different stages of growth, I am going to begin trimming this bush to see what it can take. I want to get back my wall area which can be seen to the right of the bottom of this bush and behind the Chinese fan palm.
One of the drawbacks of cuttings from a different zone is you don't know if they will survive here. This one did, and it adapted nicely.
Secondly you don't have a good idea of how big or small plants from cuttings can get.
My mistake with this bush was putting it in an area that was too small for it. With the other two I made sure they had the room. The third plant, the one by the wooden fence, will be kept no higher than the fence. I am going to try to keep this bush at that height so it will get the sun, which in the winter, comes from the other side of the fence.
