I loved the contrast between the RUBY SLIPPERS bloom and its dark foliage.
Swan Island Dahlias-thread #2
Well, hope you enjoyed the tour! I may be getting out there again this weekend, so stay tuned for more pictures. :0)
thanks for the show FF - nice work
I can pick favorites: Canby , Citron and Vassio really catch my eye.
So I haven't been there - do they take you on tours or do you get to roam around the fields?
Next time, take me with you, FF. :-)
Thanks for the beautiful photos.
Hi, Al, you can just wander in their fields. There are 40 acres of dahlias growing!!!
Thanks for the great pics, FF
I really like the 'Honeydew'. It was on my list last year of course, but didn't any of the ones I wanted. I had marked $270 worth!
I really, really like that 'Blackberry Ice'. Just love the dark color inside the petals!
I hope to go this weekend but don't want to go alone, so hope someone will go with me!
Wonderful job giving us the free tour from the comfort of our chairs :) Thanks for getting the shots of the poms- I'll have to do some serious thinking on which to get. Crossfield Ebony was used in a mixed basket at the Snoho Show and was very striking.
I love so many of the blooms you showed us- the ones with the dark edging especially, ooh la la!
And that unusual one- Blackberry Ice! Really eye catching.
Hope you can get back- 40 acres is too much for just one trip.
I'm so glad everyone is enjoying these! It looks like I'll be getting back there on Saturday morning for an hour or two of more picture taking! Stay tuned.....
Maarn, my all time favorite that I grow anyway. The color is so rich especially if you are an orange freak like me. I grow Cherry Drop, she is such a sweet little waterlily. And as the weather cools in the fall she does some interesting color streaking. Don't you just love the dark foliage of Smarty Pants?
