This has to be one of the most beautiful blooms of all, but it doesn't like heat!! Soooo sad for me where the winds blow hard or I would grow this faithfully.

I have his vine and I live in the heat. It does well and being coastal maybe the reason. It blooms all year round. The only time it did not is when we had an cold winter. We do not have cold winters and this past one was the exception. It recovered nicely and blooming it's head off as the saying goes.

gessiegail - you should try growing this plant. A friend of mine gave me a cutting last fall. I dipped it in rooting hormone and voila...the first flower is about to open completely. It seems to love the heat and is a prolific grower. I recommend protecting it if the temp gets below freezing.
