These vibrant yellow flowers have petals that feel like wax. They grow heartily here in New York. Dormant in the winter and vibrant in the Summer!

Great looking cactus plant and nice blooms you have there.
It appears to be Opuntia humifusa instead of Opuntia monacantha though.
Opuntia monacantha pads should be elongated and should have spines like these photos here:
