Ok so i thought i would start a new thread :)
here are some recent pics
Raising the Logs part 4
yes in only 5 days !!
they really are working hard and its fun to watch them too. I don't know if they think that but oh well.
Wow Sue....I can hardly believe what progress they've made in just a few days!! Fantasticccc.!! And with that tall basement wall, it gives you an opportunity to do some fabulous landscaping around it!! It will be great!!
Oh...and glad those little ones are feeling better now too..as well as yourself!
thanks Marcy :)
I m feeling better
it was a loooooooong winter lol
Well I sure do agree with that!! Longest winter I've ever seen! :))
I so happy for you, Sue. The large basement windows need to be that thermopane glass or it will cost you a lot of lost heat. But if you plan on doing a lot of living in the basement you will be very glad for the light from those windows. Where will the garage be? I didn't see it as part of the basement. Or will it be a separate structure? Hopefully with some sort of closure between it and the house. Ours is like that. A porch type short hallway that is totally closed but has a door on each end.
No we didn't do a garage
but we plan on doing a barn in the near future.
good to know on the window
yes we are going to do alot in the living in the basement LOL
we will have a front porch and a back porch
those will be nice to have
im pooped :)
Winters like you picture and no garage? What are you thinking, Sue? I really don't know how you manage in such weather without one. Guess I'm just old, soft, & spoiled.
Fantastic! Squared logs with dove tailed ends! I love those. Keep the pics coming.
Yeah we like them dovetails too.
Leaf yes it will be hard with out a garage ,but we are hoping for a barn in the next few yrs.
Just think of all the caloies i will burn chipping off the ice this winter LOL

The house looks great. Moving right along. Good idea for using the scraps. Is it for flowers or veggies?
Hey Sue - the place looks gorgeous!!!! I've been busy with clients so haven't had time to post, but have been lurking. Seems like you went through such a long time with nothing happening on the property, and now POOF! It's wonderful!
Cajun i am thinking of potatos for that bed.
going to add some aged manure and straw. till it , them plant the potatos.
Good to see you Robin !!! I missed you :)
spent 4 hrs with builder to make final plans on kitchen .
he drew out everything on the floor lol so i could see it all and where the placement is
still have a question on the island. it seems soooo big and the one corner seems to stick out in an awkward way ? but to get the 45 angle we need it has to be that way. Hmmm . i really don't want a rectangular. not fen shui :) lol
I still wish i could have a flat island to do baking buuuuutt the realization is company always sits at your kitchen, never in your dining room . So i am designing the kitchen for people to sit and gather while i cook. So the stove top is in the island. also very fen shui. LOL
i also told him no number 13 ! the basement has 14 he got lucky there. He added on extra step for me at the bottom to make 14.
yep i know i am crazy but why take chances. LOL
The raised bed looks good. I'm glad to see the house is finally getting somewhere near becoming your home.
Its beautiful Sue.. I can't wait to get back up there and see it!!

Hi Sue :) I've been so busy with clients that I've not had a chance to catch up on all the threads yet - eek! I LOVE the house!! What colors did you eventually decide to go with??
dark green roof with windows same color
I have to pick out some vinyl flooring . sheesh. More decisions . I m soooo not good at this stuff. trying to match things up and visual them in my head and hope they match. It hurts my head to think so much LOL . :)
This is the other side of the driveway yikes
anymore rain i think we ' ll need a bridge
my garden is flooded also
since the trucks did all the bulldozing and new driveway we couldn't tell where the original wash lay, guess i found it ( in my garden) :( but that is another pic i didn't get. Some of them came out blurry so i didn' post those :( i guess i moved lol :)
