Sure, Josephine, sounds great. I've been thinking that I really need to dig up that "wild" bed and give it some structure. I will probably be digging up a lot of cones between now & spring. How many would you like? Would a dozen be enough? You can have as many as I can fit into my car.

Caveat for you & Kim re: the yellow columbines. They seed freely over at my parents' house and there should be plenty. But, they're all large, and the big ones don't like being transplanted. Sometimes they die back and then resprout (or not). I'll do my best, but you should know it may set them back quite a bit.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Pattie, a dozen coneflowers will be fine, as for the columbines I realize that some may not survive, but six would be good.
Josephine.

I'll be there! Reserving this spot for my trades:

Pattie, I'll bring a sackful of 'Red Stripe' cannas for you. I'll have to find you some irises or daylilies too because I "need" starts of a LOT of your coleuses. Would you start a cutting of these coleuses for me?

Josephine, I have you down for liatris. Would six plants be about right?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis, can I have some if your Black Dalea ?
I will post my plants soon.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Pat that will be just great.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis~Can I have some of the Betony?

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Pbtxlady, can I get some toad lilies?

Pat, would any of your aloes or the ghost plants do well in pots?

And I've got frostweed down for black dalea and Stephanie down for betony. (Hopefully everything roots! This is my first large scale attempt at plant propagation... I'm getting started early, just in case!)

Dennis, the aloes and ghost plant do great in pots. That's where I have been growing them for years. In fact, the aloes came from Southern California and are not hardy in our zone. I also have some other interesting, but name unknown, succulent plants that I can share with you. I am growing all of them as pot plants as well.

If you manage to root enough, I would like starts of your black dalea, Texas betony, and cedar sage.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis, I have toads. The sp. plants don't do well in the heat, so they're kinda ratty-looking right now from our 106 streak. But they're otherwise healthy. If I bring 2 or 3, will that be enough? (They spread pretty fast.) I can also start a couple of the blue ones, if you'd like those. They are more vigorous and stand up to the heat a lot better. But I don't know if the cuttings will bloom this year, cuz the mama is already blooming.

Would you please save me one of your flame acanthus? Or (LOL) tell me how you're propagating it. I have one from Patricia in April, and I'm in love. But I haven't a clue how to make more. Do they root easily?

Patricia, I'll be thrilled to get your cannas. You don't need to look around for more "stuff" for me! I have so many beautiful things from you already. I have coleus out my ears, and I'll be glad to start all you want.

That said... I have a bed where the irises are reserved to just those from online friends. Most aren't named or anything; it's just a bed where I go and look at the pretty things and remember friends who gave them to me. If you find an extra bulb, I'd love to have one from you in there.

By the way... the liatris you gave me two years ago started blooming last week. It's so pretty. :)

Pbtxlady, the blue toad lilies sound great! As for the flame acanthus, they are really, really easy to propagate. All I did was cut about 5 inches off the end of some branches and stuck them in the dirt. I did 6, and had 100% success. :)

Hey, Eyes, of course mamajack is coming. She has to pick up her Great Pyrenees puppy from me.

:) :)

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey, Dennis, would you also like some catmint? My own cat that is addicted to catnip does not like to go outside, so I can't say for sure that she likes it. But the neighborhood cats sure seem to. We really enjoyed it this year. Lots of bees and butterflies.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

My cats love catmint. They don't eat it like they did the cat thyme (ate it to the nub and it died!), but they roll on it until it gives up. I put a tomato cage around my current plant, and they lie as close as they can get to it.

Thanks, Pattie. I have lots of great plants from you too. I know I will have a few nice irises to add to your bed. I have some clumps that desperately need digging and dividing. I wish the cooler weather would stick around!

When your flame acanthus is a little older, it may multiply by roots that send up sprouts. The one I gave you came up from a root of the mother plant. I also find seedlings around it in the fall. Most of the little seedlings die during the winter, but I will check and see if there are any now. It sounds like there are several ways to propagate it easily.

Patty..LOL I have a new camera.. and will be waiting to take Barbs pic with the puppy..rotf!! Course... since she has been waiting for the "puppy" since Central.. I bet she's grown.. "just" a lil

Looks like I better get my butt in gear.. ya'll could check out my list for the E TX RU... I will have just about the same...

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Pbtxlady, catmint would be great. I have some catnip and the cats love it. It would be fun to try something new out!

On the toad lillies, I don't need many. Not enough space for everything I want! :)

LOL, Barb does know what Great Pyrs do to yards and flowers and septic and propane lines? They can and do dig to China! My sweet Sara is now living happily in East Texas with Lynea's mom. I love that dog, but it just did not work out for us even with an acre of fenced backyard.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, Dennis, got you down for the catmint too. I can't edit any more today, so remind me if I forget to add it tomorrow.

Thanks, Patricia. I can't believe how big your flame acanthus got this year. It may very well have offsets or seedlings of its own. I've been so fascinated by those red flowers that I haven't looked. But I will do that. If not, I'll see if I can get some rooted.

Beck, I was the one who was supposed to get a puppy in April, and then in June. But Barbara didn't show up, so she lost her TWO chances. But... pssstt... it wasn't really a puppy at all. Now it's my turn. She's definitely getting a Pyrenees. I just thought it would be so nice if she never had to dig up her own garden again.

:)

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Patty... yeah.. I knew it was a joke..lol... are you serious this time then?? Well she said her gardens looked like they were burned.. the puppy could give her a headstart on doin it all over..right?? LOL BTW.. I don't remember you needing to give me an Antioch hosta.. Sylvia gave me one at Central.. but I DON"T turn any plant down!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

StephanieTX.... If they aren't already claimed, put mine and Sylvia's name on the May Night Salvia. I had lost mine a couple years ago and haven't replaced it, and I know Slyvia wants one too.
I will get stuff listed by this weekend. Or...you can just pop over and I'll dig you something up fresh! With all this rain I am sure I have stuff coming up that needs a home.

I'd love any "David Austin Rose" and I have looked all over for the "Charlotte" one. My very best friend's name is Charlotte and is a wonderful gardener.
