Zone 4 Magazine

Deer Lodge, MT(Zone 4a)

While I was poking around the Montana Nursery and Landscape Association website, checking to see if they had the picture of my winning entry from the container contest posted from our convention - which they did - I came across a new banner ad. A new magazine published in Bozeman, MT called Zone 4 Magazine . Their first issue just came out and I decided I'd give them a shot, so I subscribed.

For what it's worth, thought I'd pass this info along to all of the other Zone 4+ folks on here as it may be something you'd be interested in.

Oh, and in case you'd like to see that container, you can view it here

It's beautiful!

Cool about the mag, too..... I see zone 4 people all over the place at DG, wonder what the best way to share this would be? (Being non-zone 4 myself I'm still curious........)

Love the container plant. Bet it requires a fork lift to be moved!

Great container! Thanks for sharing edder.

Gorgeous entry and a gorgeous prize! Congratulations. Can you tell us what plants you used? please ☺

Glad everyone likes doesn't take much to move as it's just a large color bowl that sits on the rim of the pot...pick up and move.

As for the plants...1 pennisetum - it was either Prince or Princess...can't remember which one now...I think Princess - 4 fiber optic grasses and 4 creeping jenny's.

I must be looking at the wrong picture. It looks to me like a yucca sitting in the top of a large olive jar with some white yucca blooms hanging down the sides of the jar instead of growing up the way most yucca flowers do. Is this the one with penstemons et al? Which one produces the yucca like flowers and what produces the yucca like pointy leaves.
