Water features don't have to be bought nor expensive. This birdbath was made with a metal, drugstore display shelf turned on its end (the stand) and a large galvanized trashcan lid. As you can see, the sparrows are having a great time splashing water everywhere as do many other types of birds both large and small including cardinals, mockingbirds, wrens, blue jays, woodpeckers, titmice, owls, hawks, etc. The squirrels drink from it too.
