This Ruby-throated Hummingbird is a frequent visitor to my garden. He sits in the Sand Cherry Tree to survey his kingdom and protect his spot at the nectar feeder. In this particular shot I caught him blinking. It looks like he's taking a power nap which inspired the image title "Forty Winks."
I call this photo "Ladies at the bath. These beautiful American Pelicans, which can have a wing span of 9 ft., were getting pretty before moving on to cooler temperatures

These ospreys have made their home on the Gold Coast in Australia. I took these photos while I was there visiting. There were two adults and one juvenile in the nest!

In the fall the goldfinches love to feast on the black seeds of the maximillian in our back yard. The yellow of the maximillian and the yellow of the goldfinch makes a beautiful sight.
