Bottoms up! We enjoy watching the swan family on our lake every summer - and especially when the parents do this!

I grow red cannas on our deck every summer so we can watch the hummingbirds - the wings are moving so fast, they're just a blur in the photo. Amazing creatures!

This Ruby-throated Hummingbird is a frequent visitor to my garden. He sits in the Sand Cherry Tree to survey his kingdom and protect his spot at the nectar feeder. In this particular shot I caught him blinking. It looks like he's taking a power nap which inspired the image title "Forty Winks."

In the fall the goldfinches love to feast on the black seeds of the maximillian in our back yard. The yellow of the maximillian and the yellow of the goldfinch makes a beautiful sight.
