Larvae of this species live on a range of deciduous trees. Adults fly from June through July.
There are similar species, the following site gives a good description.
"forewings reddish ochreous; markings darker, thinly edged with ochreous. Hindwing grey-brown (males) or apex tinged with reddish ochreous (females). Antennae of male with a basal notch; frons and upper margin and inner surface of labial palpus white"
