Prayin matis on Christmas catus

Mantid on Rose bush. I disrupted it's hunting, as it was hanging upside down, underneath rose leaves.

He is just a baby.

I found this one as I was watering my flowers. Check out the water drops clinging to her. (I'm guessing this one is a female) It's fun to watch them sway back and forth.

My pet Mantis giving me "the finger"

In the dark of the night, a young praying mantis has torn into a live moth with its right foot. The moth is peering up at the mantis as if to say, "Please don't kill me!!"

Did not like being photographed. On a ginger, August.

This is just a baby that I found on my yarrow.

Found this little one while weeding around a holly tree.

Posing for the camera...September 2008 in Lincoln, Nebraska...

Female PM, reportedly prepared to lay eggs. First observed in fall, but no aphids at all in rose garden earlier, so many others may be hiding.

Tiny praying mantis on mandevilla in East Texas, Spring 2007.

I first found her on my cactus- she's since wandered all over my container-garden.

I hoped to get a better picture- she didn't like being disturbed. I love her pretty blue nose! :)

She kept moving out of view- definitely didn't want me messing with her huntin' groove. *chuckle*
