Taken on 25th June 2008, Lincoln UK. Feeding on Geranium versicolor in my garden. The broad semicircular notch in the posterior margin of T6 separates this from O. caerulescens. Thanks to Stuart.
In flight, this is a male.
Taken on 10th June 2008, this looking a little fresher. On a Geranium sylvaticum hybrid.
His face as he emerges from the flower.
It is a small bee with very shaggy, orange thorax hairs.
