A naturally occuring form of P. major, that has been known and grown in England and Europe since at least medieval times.

Has tightly bunched, mid-green, leafy bracts instead of the normal flower. Out of flower it just looks like the normal lawn weed, fortunately it flowers for a good part of the year.

Loves a well drained soil in full sun. It will tolerate some shade and while it prefers a neutral to acid soil it will cope on mildly alkaline.

A small 'talking point' plant that provides a good sturdy cut flower. Suprisingly it produces viable seeds that come true to a reasonable degree.
