Stephanotis Species, Bridal Wreath, Hawaiian Wedding Flower, Madagascar Jasmine (Stephanotis floribunda)

2009 Blooms

The first time I saw this vine, I fell in love with it. It is extremely fragrant.

Stephanotis seedlings.

Buds

Stephanotis, Goleta, California

Stephanotis seed pod

Growing along the back fence. It will grow into the trees, if I let it.

This Stepahnotis was planted in 1986 and covers approximately 60 feet of the chain link fence at our home in Hilo, Hawaii.

This is the best showing of 3yr old plant. (25+ blooms) I'm not sure where I'll put it this fall when she has to come in... Enjoy!

this one bract had 13 flowers on it- yay!!!!!

The 2nd year I've had this plant growing outside and the blooms are just incredible (May 2008) - In the hottest area and South-side of my home.

The scent is just absolutely amazing and it really has done a good job of climbing on my trellises (May 2008 - First blooms of the year)

These seedlings are shown about 2-1/2 weeks after sowing.

Bought this one last year as a one gallon plant. It is getting really full and growing like crazy here in central, inland CA (z9b/sunset9).

See dried opened pod. Vine grows in south facing backyard Chula Vista, CA on North side of fence. Flowers every year.

These smell delightful, but don't fill the air with their scent like jasmine does.

Opened seed pod on the vne. When the pod is mature, it will split open, sending the seed pods, with their "feathers", into the wind.
