Oxalis, Purple & Black False Shamrock, Wood Sorrel 'Atropurpurea' (Oxalis triangularis subsp. papilionaceae)

Oxalis regnellii atropurpurea
'Purple Shamrock'

Purple Oxalis in a pot with white flowers

Purple shamrock grows great by my pond.

This is my purple shamrock that a friend had kept for me while I was out of state. It is huge and in need of a division. He took very good care of it and I will share it now with him.

Adds color interest and textural appeal wherever you plant it.

Love the blooms against the deep purple leaves. Although small, they really standout.

Good combination, Japanese banana, Japanese Forest grass and the Purple oxalis. All get along great in the planting here in Western Washington state.

This 3 leaf cluster is exactly 5 inches across from left tip to right tip. This is almost the width of the lobe on the left. These plants have huge leaves this year perhaps because they did not go dormant. (San Antonio, Tx.)

Shamrock

The difference in hues in some of the leaves

This plant is a dark purple/maroon color and makes a good contrast plant.

Flowers are only about 1/2 - 3/4 inches across

I love the purple color and patterns of these leaves!

The pink flower and purple leaves are a nice color combination!

A must for purple plant people!

My Oxalis

I recieved a small clump from a friend last year, i split and planted, now I have 4 small mounds of my own. 4.2005

Oxalis Triangularis

Oxalis Triangularis about 4 weeks after setting it out in a pot. Very fast to bloom.

Purple oxalis, dramatic contrast in a mixed planter, full sun

One year old - filled this spot in rapidly and looked just like this even through the winter!

Love the purple foilage but these tiny blooms are an added bonus

Teeny blooms from the front

One of my favorite container plants and so easy to grow!

After 3 months in a Container it gets fairly large...Love it though!

I orginally planted this in full sun, but the hot desert sun would burn up the leaves each summer. Now it is in shade and keeps it's leaves year round.

3 yearold Oxalis triangularis subsp. papilionaceae

I have really had good luck with this plant and have had it for years. I have started many patches of it from one plant.
