Lagerstroemia Species, Giant Crepe Myrtle, Pride of India, Queen's Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia speciosa)

This is known also as the PRIDE of INDIA. It suffers from wind burn here and has to be planted in a protected area. I grew mine in a large pot for years in my courtyard. The flowers are much larger than any I have seen growing in Southern USA. We don't get color varieties here only purple and light pink! I have tried rooting pieces of crepe myrtle from the states here but it was never successful. :(
