Ornamental Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato Vine 'Margarita' (Ipomoea batatas)

Close-up of planter with dahlias and sweet potatos

This is 'Marguerite'

Growing in a container with other plants

This vine is vigorously spreading all over the ground in Rockledge, Florida (32955).

I found this bloom on my Sweet Potato vine on September 8, 2003.

Brightens any partial shade area. Shown with begonia under an oak tree. (San Antonio, Tx.)

With cascading leaves, this plant adds texture and color. (San Antonio, Tx.)

This fern would not be as attractive without 'Margarita' accentuating its deep green crinkly fronds. The photo is a little dark in order to show the leaf texture on the vine. The magenta and green strapleaf caladiums that provided more color are already going into "hybernation" for the winter.

Margarita sweet potato vine tubers which I store until the spring so that they do not rot in the soil.

Just part of a huge front border full of 'Margharita.'

massive sweet potato vine

Beautiful lime green color - grows quick too!

Still growing after the hottest August on record, but vines in planters quickly wilt without regular watering.

Starts taken off purchased plants, rooted in pot for couple days, plunked in around other plants. Should fill in.

extremley fast growing!!
