This is such a great color and I hope to always have this plant in the garden.

Grown from seed in late spring of 2003. It is now Sept. and it is 4 ft. tall and full of blooms. Flowers are salmon, light pink, fushia pink, lavender, white. A favorite with bees and hummingbirds in my yard.

Young plants/seedlings

First blooms; impatiens balsamina

This a a live plant with lower fuschia colored petals and upper purple petals.

The spotted flowers are charming but they do not make many seeds.

Close up of a flower. Somewhere between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, late spring.

This is one very happy plant that seeded itself in my corn.

These are probably the easiest annuals I have ever grown from seed, and the seed pods are FUN! Kind of like popping bubble wrap! LOL

Unusual bloom on top of one of the balsam stems. The rest of the stem had normal balsam blooms on it.

Spotted/variegated trait has occurred in two continuous generations of this lot of which I have coral, purple, red and pink hues.

+1 m in height for this Balsam

variegated flower purple-pink and white

Growing in a pot in mostly sun.

Pink Impatiens balsamina, with white spotted flowers rarely seen.

Posted by "mich bill" on GardenWeb trying to identify the plant. Excellent close-up on the exploding seed pods.

Very nice double pink flowers that have white spot markings on the petals. A delight to grow.

Pink Touch Me Nots growing in the shade - 2 year for these plants.

These have been growing very well in semi-shade. They are taller than stated on the seed packet (closer to 4 feet), but they are pretty and the bees love them!

Balsam in the back/ center of the flowerbed grown from seed in a shady spot in my yard in SD.

Photo of my tough-me-nots taken mid summer. No watering from me. They were volunteering from prior year. I had them in both shade and full sun and they do great.
