This lobelia is found along the wet areas of ditches on my property in the late fall. It reseeds and is a beautiful native plant.

Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)

Almost a month in the garden and doing well!

Lobelia siphilitica seeds; empty seed pod on left & unharvested seed pod on right

Taken11th September. I have had this in a pot for years now, waiting for a suitable spot. It does self seed around in other pots, but I love the flowers.

Early Spring Emergence

This species is often visited by bumble bees.

In a wet location, it will self-seed prolifically. It blooms in the first year.
