The trunk of the second largest New Zealand Kauri, known as Te Matua Ngahere, Father of the Forest. It had a height of 29.9 m, a girth of 16.4 m and the trunk height was 10.2 m when I was in New Zealand in January 1991

The crown of the largest New Zealand Kauri, known as Tane Mahuta, Lord of the Forest. It had a height of 51.5 m, a girth of 13.8 m and the trunk height was 17.7 m when I was in New Zealand in January 1991. It is estimated to be more than 1200 years old.
