The foliage. The tree was so huge that I couldn�t get a position to take a shot of its whole. Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden, early spring.

The same palm as above in Foster Botanical Gaden, Oahu.. Its brother finished blooming and died last year. Only the palm to the right remains... They also added a nice looking garbage can...

even young seedling , already have tiny thorns on the edge of the branches

Leaves are quite amazing, fan-shaped but split from middle to end tip and by pair.

this seedling in Hawaii, now about 8' tall, is the same plant as in the 5th photo from the top of this page, Lundkvist garden
