Bignonia, Cross Vine, Crossvine, Trumpet Flower 'Tangerine Beauty' (Bignonia capreolata)

This is the 3rd summer I have had this vine and love it. We needed more privacy against our "board on board" fence as this lines the last part of the driveway before you reach the backyard gate. This vine is a lot like the ivy jingle "the first year it sleeps, 2nd it creeps and the 3rd it leaps" We had such a show of blooms-it was beautiful. I've had no problem w/ants or Japanese beetles (although those beetles love my roses and the Wysteria Tree (that I have plant AWAY from the house) grape plants and butterfly bushes. The Trumpet vine has not invaded anything but the fence that I like it to cover. I do not think the soil is good enough for it to go anywhere but where it is-it seems to be a no maintenance, beautiful vine w/gorgeous flowers! It grows like a charm in clay soil of East Tennessee.

The first bloom from a one year old cutting. Looking forward to more!

Notice the way the vine is creeping up in between the fence here. Might actually work best with lattice or some other vine support.

Profuse bloom despite sparse foliage

This was taken in March of this year...just as the hummer's were arriving.

Color deepens as flowers age and fall off

So happy with my Oyvegarden 4 year old plant order!
