Asparagus, Foxtail Fern 'Myersii' (Asparagus densiflorus)

In this landscape there were many foxtail ferns mixed with evergreens, perennials and winter annuals that are just starting to bloom in January. The foxtail ferns add textural interest and color and form contrast. Red berries are just starting to develop on them.(San Antonio, Tx.)

Foxtail Fern July 2005

Foxtail Fern 'Meyersii' (Asparagus densiflorus) foliage has a beautiful structure.

The Foxtail Fern 'Meyersii' (Asparagus densiflorus) very teensy flowers are so small that they are easily overlooked. Shown in early January after very warm weather.

This is currently residing outside, here in Wash. St.. Will have to bring it inside for the winter.

Just a really neat growing and easy plant...

An idea of what you can do in a container with this lovely plant - planted with Curcuma and Gaura...It such a nice shaped grower

This plant looks very attractive grown in a hanging basket..and is so easy to look after.. and will withstand some neglect.

Crazy Foxtail Ferns! I love them and they grow incredibly fast and large in Florida.

Foxtail???

The long fronds of this plant truly do resemble a fox's tail... a fabulous textural addition to the garden in sun or shade.
