Aztec Lily, Jacobean Lily (Sprekelia formosissima)

Keep flowers out of direct sunlight to prolong bloom.

This variety is called Orient Red, in southern California in spring

My first Sprekelia - photographed at night.

Roughly arranged in the shape of a cross, they were thought to resemble the emblem of the Spanish Knights of St James.
