My second year of blooms from Neomarica Caerulea 'regina'. Plants are 4 feet tall.
November 2006, South Africa, Pretoria, leaves up to 5 feet, flowering stems up to 8 feet
Neomarica caerulea in bloom late this morning. Seems to be faring well on north side of the house in shaded area.
Purchased today at a Sarasota Plant sale...Plenty of buds ready to bloom.
Two days after purchase this beautiful plant surprised me with some gorgeous blooms!
Another beautiful set of blooms - the 4th set in 2 weeks...
Neomarica caerulea blooms repatedly from the same stalks. "Baby plants" form where the blooms were. They don't bend down to the ground, but root readily when put in the soil.
Regina in bloom, March 18, 2010
Growing in my yard, South Florida.
Beautiful flowers and large strappy leaves.
Flower and what is left after the flower is spent. I have never seen any seeds.
Close-up of the blooms. They only last 1 day.
