Cestrum Species, Night Blooming Jasmine, Night Scented Jessamine, Queen of the Night (Cestrum nocturnum)

Wonderful plant, blooms and blooms. Scent is very strong and sweet for such a tiny flower.

It\\\'s hard to believe these plain blooms can emit so much fragrance.

What a grower! From less than 2 inches to about a foot in 5 months. I can't wait for flowers!

Little tiny berry-like seeds being formed on my white cestrum this time of year. 1st Autumn day 2008

This is a two year old plant and was absolutely awesome this year!

Six months after starting from a cutting.

Pruning to 3 ft in June-July (at New Delhi) helps it to flower well September onwards

My Cestrum nocturnum on my deck, it's greenish-white flowers await for the night to arrive!

Cestrum nocturnum flowers during the day

Small they may be, but the flowers of Cestrum nocturnum are powerfully fragrant!!

Night Blooming Jessamine or "Queen of the Night" is a must for the fragrance connoisseur!

The fragrant Night Blooming Jessamine

The Night Blooming Jessamine's delicacy in flower belies the haunting strength of its scent!

Highly fragrant flowers but only at night time.

The ornamental white berries of my Cestrum nocturnum

Each of these berries contains small brownish-black seeds, beware the berries of this plant are toxic!

Cestrum nocturnum berries are eaten by birds which in turn disperse its seeds

I have had fresh Cestrum nocturnum seeds germinate within a weeks time

A plant as special as Night-blooming Jessamine needs a special container

Me and my Night Blooming Jessamine (September 12, 2011)

My Night Blooming Jessamine at around 4 ft. tall, 5 ft. wide (June 16, 2012)

Already 6 foot tall and 3 foot wide after I gave it a trim by half in early May.

Loaded with second flush of blooms.

Takes pruning well. I trim bottom & let upper branches arch over shrub in front. 01/01/14. z9a
