European Orchid (Epipactis helleborine)

This just arrived in my yard. I wonder if it was a gift from the birds?

Flowers are pretty up close.

Epipactis helleborine growing in my yard.

I was suprised to find this growing where no other plant has ever grown.

Incredibly fecund plant! These seeds are only from 4 of the capsules on one plant, the other 6 or so capsules had already dispersed seed.

This shows the invasive nature of Epipactis helleborine in the mulched area shaded by my Oak tree.

Epipactis helleborine before flowering but with mature root system

I found this variegated one growing along a patch of moss.
