Definition of tulipmania (tulipomania)

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by paulgrow:

In the late 16th century tulips were introduced to Holland. These flowers were considered so rare that people went nuts to get them. The wealthy people fought each other to buy them. Toward the middle of the 17th century the tulip trade went bust. Most of the wealthy found themselves penniless.
the moral of the story-- don't something just because every one else is doing it--think for yourself.
