A propagation method using pieces of foliated or defoliated stalks with one or more eyes. Single-eye cuttings can be taken from plants that have alternate leaves, allowing one axillary bud per cutting. Double-eye cuttings are taken from plants that have opposite leaves, leaving two leaves and buds per cutting.
