Definition of earwig

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Terry:

A common name for Forficula auricularia, an omnivorous insect whose hind legs resemble the human ear (their name doesn't mean they are apt to crawl in your ear :)

They can do damage to plants, by chewing holes in the leaves although the damage is similar to that inflicted by slugs, snails and cutworms
