Definition of crossed branches

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Terry:

Shrub or tree branches that cross each other. Pruning techniques usually advise removing one branch in such situations. Especially true if the branches are rubbing against one another, as the rubbing will eventually wear away the bark and leave an area susceptible to infection.

Future crossed branches can be minimized by proper pruning techniques, which encourage growth outward instead of toward the middle of the plant.
