Definition of Longhorn Cactus Beetle

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by Hightrail:

(Moneilema gigas) Large, flightless beetle. Adults feed on chollas, prickly pear, barrel and other, less spiny cactus. Larvae bore into the roots and stems of cactus, killing more susceptible species. In my experience I\'ve found they really like echinopsis species! The adults can be found in the morning, in early summer.
