Definition of tumbleweed

Categorized under "General"

Definition as written by palmbob:

one of several species of plant that eventually dies and becomes unattached from its root supply to then subsequently roll about the environment being blown about by the wind. A true tumbleweed disperses and reproduces in such a fashion, dropping its seed/spore as it tumbles about. Most associate the Russian Thistle (Salsola sp.) with this description- considered one of the \'classic\' tumbleweeds, but certainly not the only tumbleweed.
