An excellant book on desert plants! This book is not just about cacti. It talks about desert shrubs, trees, wildflowers and succulents. It is very easy and enjoyable reading. The color photographs are stimulating. It goes into designing a desert garden, propagation, care of desert plants, growing desert plants under non-desert conditions. Even though this book mainly focuses on the Chihuahuan desert, the info in this book can be applied anywhere. The best part of the book is the desert plant encyclopedia in the back. It has beautiful drawings and lists the species name, common name, plant description, range and habitat, hardiness, planting and care and general remarks. A great book for the beginer as well as the accomplished desert plant grower.
