I think this is the best overall bulb book I have on my bookshelf. It's not just a book of the pretty flowers. While it does have color photos of the flowers, it also has illustrations of the different types of bulbs, illustrations of the planting depths, and illustrations of how the bulb develops underground over a season.

Whether you are new to bulbs, or a seasoned bulb gardener, there's a wealth of information packed into this book, and something for everyone.

I like the Time Life series of gardening books. They were inspiration for a beginner and still serve as a good source of plant identification as well as information. This book is no exception.
